METRORail Service Interruptions

 

When?

Continues through May 2021, from the beginning to the end of service. A free METRO shuttle will be provided for the affected areas. Northbound trains will begin service at 4:39 a.m. from Smith Lands Station to Northline Transit Center at a 12 min frequency.


What?

Select Red Line platforms will be inaccessible.


Where?

METRORail Red Line between Fannin South Transit Center and Smith Lands / TMC Stations.

 

Shuttle Service

METRO will operate dedicated “700 Rail Shuttle” buses daily every 10-15 minutes between Fannin South and the TMC Transit Center and will follow the Authority’s social distancing requirements.

When you click to open either of the direction links below, METRORail stops are shown in bold. Corresponding shuttle stops are shown as Google Map links to the right.

METRO will also operate a TMC Red Shuttle – from Smith Lands parking lot to TMC Campus service. It will operate during peak weekday hours, every 5-10 minutes. If you park at Smith Lands, we recommend you take the TMC Red Shuttle when traveling during peak periods. The stop will be on David M. Underwood Blvd. between Braeswood and Old Spanish Trail.

Red Line trains will operate between Smith Lands and Northline stations every 12 minutes. Customers traveling southbound to Stadium Park/Astrodome or Fannin South station will be required to transfer to the rail bus shuttle at Smith Lands station.

Customers traveling from Fannin South station will have the option of transferring to rail service at Smith Lands or TMC station according to their final destination.

Shuttle service requires more travel time, so please allow more time for your trip.
