There were 4,822K boardings in June 2018 compared to 4,810K in June 2017, an increase of approximately 12K boardings (or less than 1 percent) on local bus service. There were two weather days in 2018 compared to four weather days in 2017 which contributed to a ridership gain.
Average Daily Ridership: Weekday / Saturday / Sunday
Average daily ridership increased on Weekday and Sunday, but decreased on Saturday in June 2018 compared to June 2017. Average Weekday ridership increased by approximately 5K boardings (or 3 percent), average Sunday ridership increased by approximately 2K boardings (or 2 percent) and average Saturday ridership decreased by less than 1K (or less than 1 percent), in June 2018 compared to June 2017.
Light Rail
Monthly Total
There were 1,587K boardings on all three light rail lines in June 2018 compared to 1,529K boardings in June 2017, an increase of 58K boardings (or 4 percent). Red line ridership increased by 3 percent, Green line ridership increased by 18 percent, and Purple line ridership increased by 13 percent in June 2018 compared to June 2017. The main factors for the increased ridership were four additional special event days associated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church Youth Conference relative to June 2017; improved weather, and no scheduled service interruptions, compared to three scheduled service interruptions on all three rail lines in June 2017.

Average Weekday ridership on the Red, Green, and Purple lines decreased by less than 1K boardings (or 1 percent), increased by less than 1K boardings (or 9 percent) and increased by less than 1K boardings (or 8 percent) respectively in June 2018 compared to June 2017. Average Saturday ridership on Red line increased by less than 0.5K boardings (less than 1 percent) while average Saturday ridership on the Green and Purple lines increased by less than 1K boardings (or 16 percent) and increased by less than 1K boardings (or 12 percent) respectively in June 2018 compared to June 2017. Average Sunday ridership on Red line decreased by 2K (or 12 percent) while average Sunday ridership on the Green increased by less than 1K boardings (or 22 percent), and increased by less than 0.5K boardings (or 2 percent) in June 2018 compared to June 2017 respectively.
