There were 4,892K boarding in March 2019 compared to approximately 5,124K in March 2018, a decrease of approximately 232K boardings (or 5 percent) on local bus service. A negative calendar mix of one fewer weekday and one more Sunday relative to the previous year a ridership loss would be expected.

Average daily ridership decreased on Weekday, Saturday and Sunday. Weekday average daily ridership decreased by approximately 6K boardings (or 3 percent), Saturday average daily ridership decreased by approximately 3K boardings (or 2 percent) and Sunday average daily ridership decreased by approximately 3K (or 3 percent) in March 2019 compared to March 2018.
Light Rail

There were 1,875K boardings on all three light rail lines in March 2019 compared to 1,945K boardings in March 2019, a decrease of 69K boardings (or 4 percent). Red line ridership decreased by less than 5 percent, Green line ridership increased by 3 percent, and Purple line ridership increased by 5 percent in March 2019 compared to March 2018. One factor contributing to the decrease was one fewer rodeo concert day March 2019 compared to March 2018. Another factor contributing to the ridership decrease was a negative calendar mix of one fewer weekday and one more Sunday relative to the previous year.
