Longtime Harris County Official Joins METRO Board

The METRO Board has a new member – Jim Robinson, deputy director for special projects in Harris County’s Budget Management Department.

Robinson was sworn in during today’s board meeting.

Robinson, a registered professional appraiser in the state of Texas, served 23 years as chief appraiser for the Harris County Appraisal District.  Previous roles include executive director of the Texas State Property Tax Board and a member of the director’s staff with the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Robinson received a B.S. and M.A. from Sam Houston State University, and is a graduate from the National Security Management program of the Industrial College of the Armed Forces.

Robinson replaces Gary Stobb, who received a commendation for his service on the board. Stobb served on the Finance/Audit, Capital Programs and Customer Service committees during his three years on the METRO Board.
