Main Street Square Station
This section of Main Street is often referred to as the birthplace of modern Houston, where the city's first skyscrapers were built to serve the thriving economy. Architectural styles in the area range from elegant art-deco to contemporary. The artistic concept for the station reflects new vitality and development in the station area while recognizing the roots of modern Houston. The presence of tall buildings is reflected in the skyscraper-inspired sculptural column design, and the pavement design presents the surrounding buildings as directional icons, embedded in the platform for user orientation. These design elements project a sophisticated style, blending the past with the future.
