A: Most smartphones are set to automatically update apps when they are notified that the app has an update available. If individuals have turned off automatic updates, then they will continue to use the previous version of METRO TRIP until they manually update it via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

A: Not at this time.

A: Yes, METRO TRIP is available for iPhones and Android phones.
Q: Does this work with smart watches?
A: Yes, if users have allowed their smart watch to mirror METRO TRIP alerts to their watch, then the same alerts that appear on their smartphone will also appear on their smart watch.
Q: What smartphone OS versions are supported?
A: Phones need to have Android 5+ or iOS 9+.
Q: What happens if a beacon is missing?
A: If a bus stop’s beacon goes missing, then METRO TRIP app will utilize GPS as a backup until METRO can replace the stop’s beacon.
Q: What makes a bus stop smart?
A: METRO has attached location beacons to all of its bus stops to assist with wayfinding. Patrons will see the benefits by using METRO TRIP.
