METRO Enhances curb2curb With Smarter App and Rideshare Options

METRO curb2curb has partnered with Uber and Lyft to provide rides to customers during high traffic hours.

METRO curb2curb riders now have more options to ride, thanks to our recent partnership with Lyft and Uber and other updates to the curb2curb app.

METRO curb2curb is an on-demand, rideshare service designed to connect neighborhoods that aren’t directly served by traditional METRO bus routes to the broader transit network. Operating within designated service zones, curb2curb allows riders to schedule convenient pick-ups and drop-offs anywhere through the curb2curb app within those zones or at METRO facilities, making it easy to transfer to bus and rail services and reach their destinations efficiently.

As part of the METRONow plan, METRO has introduced new updates to the curb2curb app to improve customer experience when planning a rideshare.

The partnership with Uber and Lyft has been made to meet high rider demand when curb2curb vehicles are not available. Customers will be able to see an option to order an Uber or Lyft on the app and expect to still pay the low fare of $1.25 (credit or debit card only).

“This partnership allows us to supplement our service by offering additional transportation options during high-demand times or when a curb2curb vehicle isn’t immediately available,” said Michael Andrade, Vice President of Specialized Transit Services Operations. “It’s another way we’re working to make travel easier and more convenient for our customers.”

Since the app relaunch in April, Uber and Lyft have provided over 2,300 riders to curb2curb customers.

The curb2curb app also now also includes a built-in trip planner to make it easier to travel in and out of their zone using bus, METRORail and curb2curb service.

With expanded options and an upgraded app, the agency can continue to reinforce its commitment to rider-focused solutions. The new partnerships with Lyft and Uber, will give riders more flexibility and reliable access to safe, affordable, and convenient transportation—even during periods of high demand.
