500 IAH Downtown Direct Moves to Terminal E for Easier, Faster Connections

Beginning Dec. 7, METRO’s 500 IAH Downtown Direct will now pick up from Terminal E, offering travelers a smoother and more direct connection between George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and downtown Houston.

The move is part of the METRONow plan to enhance the customer experience and provide fast, affordable, and reliable airport service. Terminal E places riders closer to baggage claim and arrival areas while offering a covered driveway, a designated bus lane, and improved wayfinding.

“This change reflects our commitment to making travel easier for both Houston residents and visitors,” said Tom Jasien, METRO's Interim President and CEO. “The 500 Downtown Direct continues to deliver fast, reliable service with an improved passenger experience at IAH.”

What Riders Can Expect

• Service every 30 minutes
• Comfortable buses with Wi-Fi and luggage storage
• $4.50 one-way fare

Updated signage will guide passengers to the new pickup point, and all other route details remain the same.
