Reload Your Fare Card

There are various locations where you can add cash value to your registered or unregistered METRO Q® Fare Card or METRO Day Pass:

  • All METRO RideStores
  • Participating retailers
  • Select vending machines at rail platforms and various METRO facilities
  • Reload machine near rear exit of all local buses

You can also reload your fare card online using a credit, debit or transit benefits card. Find information on how to do that below.

Get Started

When you reload a registered card online, you can enable autoload. This allows you to set a schedule for how often and how much cash value is automatically added to your card. Registering your card also protects its account balance if the card gets lost. To register a card for free, visit any METRO RideStore location or contact Customer Service at 713-635-4000.

Reload a Registered Card

To log in, you’ll need the email address you provided when you first registered your card, along with your password. If you’re a first-time user, directions will be provided on how to set up a password. A credit, debit or transit benefits card will be required to process your transaction.

Reload an Unregistered Card

To log in, you only need to enter your fare card number. An email address isn’t required. However, in order for your transaction to be processed, you’ll need to provide a credit, debit or transit benefits card. METRO doesn’t collect or store that information.
