Service Changes


These are the suggested service changes for January 2018 that had been presented at the public hearing Wednesday, November 1, 2017.

2 Bellaire – 7 days/week – Adjust running time between timepoints to make the schedule more reliable.

4 Beechnut – 7 days/week – Change the westbound route to operate via Scott – Alabama – Tierwester – Cleburne. There will be no route change in the eastbound direction. Weekdays – Add a 4:48 a.m. westbound trip to match service with ridership demand. Adjust running time between timepoints to make the schedule more reliable.

5 Southmore – 7 days/week – Change the route to operate via Binz, SH 288 service road, and Southmore. Adjust running time between timepoints to make the schedule more reliable.

6 Jensen /Greens – weekdays – Extend the 5:14, 6:14, 9:16, and 10:16 a.m. northbound trips from Tidwell Transit Center to Greenspoint Transit Center. Have the following trips start at Greenspoint Transit Center instead of Tidwell Transit Center: 6:24, 7:24, 11:24 a.m. and 12:24 p.m. to relieve overcrowding.

25 Richmond – Saturday – Change the end destination of the 10:15 p.m. westbound trip from Westchase to Mission Bend to match service with ridership demand.

32 Renwick / San Felipe – 7 days/week – Adjust running time between timepoints; change timepoints in the schedule to Milam @ Texas and Travis @ Prairie, all to make the schedule more reliable.

33 Post Oak – weekdays – Adjust frequency to 15 minutes during the peak to match service with ridership demand.

39 Katy Freeway – 7 days/week – Due to traffic congestion, change the end of the route to Britoak and Yorkchester, to make the detour permanent. Adjust frequency from 60 to 40 minutes, and adjust running time between timepoints, all to make the schedule more reliable.

45 Tidwell – weekdays – Add 12:45 and 1:15 p.m. eastbound trips, and 2:15 and 2:45 p.m. westbound trips to relieve overcrowding. 7 days/week – Adjust running time between timepoints to make the schedule more reliable.

48 Market – 7 days/week – Adjust running time between timepoints to make the schedule more reliable.

56 Airline / Montrose – weekdays – Add a 4:22 a.m. southbound trip to match service with ridership demand.

63 Fondren – 7 days/week - Adjust running time between timepoints to make the schedule more reliable; shift the start time of the 4:15 p.m. southbound trip to 3:30 p.m. to match service with ridership demand.

82 Westheimer – weekdays – Add an 8:06 a.m. eastbound trip, and adjust trip times between 7:52 and 8:20 a.m. Add a 10:05 p.m. trip and adjust westbound trip times between 10:20 and 10:50 p.m., all to relieve overcrowding.

85 Antoine / Washington – 7 days/week – Adjust running time between timepoints to make the schedule more reliable.

87 Sunnyside – 7 days/week – Change the eastbound and westbound route to enter the Star of Hope Cornerstone Community, making the detour permanent.

99 Ella - FM 1960 – weekdays – Add a 6:30 p.m. northbound trip and a 7:00 p.m. southbound trip to relieve overcrowding.

102 Bush IAH Express – weekdays – Add 2:07, 2:37, and 3:07 p.m. outbound trips; add a 9:30 p.m. inbound trip, all to relieve overcrowding.

108 Veterans Memorial Express – weekdays – Add 2:45 and 6:30 p.m. outbound trips to match service with ridership demand.

137 Northshore Express – 7 days/week – Extend all trips from the Fifth Ward/Denver Harbor Transit Center to Maxey Road Park & Ride to match service with ridership demand, and adjust running times to make the schedule more reliable.

151 Westpark Express – weekdays – Add 2:50 and 7:35 p.m. westbound trips to match service with ridership demand.

152 Harwin Express – weekdays – Adjust running time between timepoints to make the schedule more reliable.

153 Harwin Express – weekdays – Adjust frequency to 15 minutes between 6:00 and 7:00 a.m. to relieve overcrowding.

161 Wilcrest Express – 7 days/week – Adjust running time between timepoints to make the schedule more reliable.

170 Missouri City Express – weekdays – Eliminate the 7:40 a.m. outbound trip due to low ridership.

214 Northwest Station Park & Ride – weekdays – Adjust frequencies between 5:20 & 6:00 p.m. to make the schedule more reliable.

219 Northwest Station / West Little York Park & Ride – weekdays – Change the route to serve the Cypress Park & Ride lot middays and late night. Change frequency to 50 minutes to match service with ridership demand.

221 Kingsland Park & Ride – weekdays – Remove trips to match service with ridership demand. Service will be shifted to the 222 Grand Parkway route.

222 Grand Parkway Park & Ride – weekdays – Added 5:00, 5:45, and 6:33 a.m. inbound trips; 3:36, 4:34, and 5:52 p.m. outbound trips (effective 10/2/2017), all to relieve overcrowding. METRO reserves the ability to add additional trips, effective January 2018.

246 Bay Area Park & Ride – weekdays - Remove trips to match service with ridership demand. Service will be shifted to the 248 El Dorado route.

248 El Dorado Park & Ride – weekdays – Add a 5:15 a.m. inbound trip to relieve overcrowding.

269 West Bellfort / Westwood Park & Ride – weekdays – Change the frequency from 30 to 40 minutes to match service with ridership demand. Service will be shifted to the 219 Northwest Station / West Little York route.

283 Kuykendahl / Greenway / Uptown Park & Ride – weekdays – Adjust a.m. running time between timepoints to make the schedule more reliable.

298 Addicks / NWTC / TMC Park & Ride – weekdays – Adjust running time between timepoints to make the schedule more reliable.

311 Bayou Event Center – Change the status of this route from pilot to regular service.

344 Community Connector – weekdays – Added a.m. and p.m. trips to relieve overcrowding (effective 9/29/17). Change the status of this route from pilot to regular service.

METRORail Red Line – weekdays – change frequency from 6 to 12 minutes (after 7 p.m. northbound, 9 p.m. southbound) to match service with ridership demand. Adjust running time between timepoints to make the schedule more reliable.
