There were approximately 4,883K boarding in November 2019 compared to approximately 4,892K in November 2018, a decrease of 8K boardings (or less than 1 percent) on local bus service. A negative calendar mix of one fewer weekday and one more Saturday relative to the previous year contributed to ridership loss.
Average Daily Ridership: Weekday / Saturday / Sunday
Average daily ridership decreased on Weekday yet increased on Saturday and Sunday. Weekday average daily ridership decreased by less than 1K boardings (or less than 1 percent), Saturday average daily ridership increased by 2K boardings (or 2 percent) and Sunday average daily ridership increased by 10K (or 11 percent) in November 2019 compared to November 2018.
Light Rail
Monthly Total
There were 1,342K boardings on all three light rail lines and 47K boardings on bus bridges in November 2019 compared to 1,483K boardings on all three light rail lines and 4K boardings on bus bridges in November 2018, a decrease of 99 boardings (or 7 percent). Red line ridership decreased by 12 percent, Green line ridership increased by 3 percent, and Purple line ridership increased by 1 percent in November 2019 compared to November 2018. The scheduled shutdowns on all three of the rail lines was the major factor for ridership decrease.

Average Weekday ridership on the Red, Green, and Purple lines decreased by less than 2K boardings (or 3 percent), increased by less than 1K boardings (or 3 percent) and increased by less than 1K boardings (or 7 percent) respectively in November 2019 compared to November 2018. Average Saturday ridership on Red, Green, and Purple lines decreased by more than 2K boardings (or 10 percent), increased by less than 1K boardings (or 7 percent), and increased by less than 1K boardings (or 4 percent) respectively in November 2019 compared to November 2018. Average Sunday ridership on Red, Green, and Purple lines decreased by less than 1K (or 3 percent), increased by less than 1K boardings (or 9 percent), and increased by less than 1K boardings (or 10 percent) respectively in November 2019 compared to November 2018 respectively.
