University of Houston-Downtown Station
The driving forces for the design of this station are the adjacent University of Houston-Downtown building and Buffalo Bayou, running below. The finishes on the platform mirror in color and texture the ornamental clay brick pavers used in the historic university building and reference the rich natural and commercial history of the bayou. Within the canopy glass, photographic images of exuberant wilderness evoke the state of the bayou before man's intervention.
