Bikes On Buses

your lifestyle, METRO’s bike program gives you more
options for your ride.
Bike on Local Buses
METRO’s local buses are equipped with easy loading
bike racks capable of carrying up to two bikes at a
time.
Loading your bike onto the rack:
- Squeeze the handle up to release the latch and then fold down the bike rack.
- Lift your bike onto the rack. Be sure to place the front wheel in the designated slot.
- Raise the support arm up and over the tire, so that the hook rests at the highest point on the front wheel.
Unloading your bike from the rack:
- Raise the support arm off the tire and fold down into the secure position.
- Lift your bike out of the rack.
- Squeeze the handle and fold up the bike rack.
Tips to Remember
- Inform the bus operator whenever you plan to load or unload your bike.
- Remove all loose items from your bike, such as bottles or air pumps.
- You must operate the rack yourself, loading and unloading your bike. If the rack is empty when you remove your bike, please place it in the upright position.
- Bus operators are not allowed to assist you with your bike.
- METRO is not responsible for any damage to your bike(s).
Bike on Commuter Buses
METRO’s commuter buses are capable of carrying up to two bikes at a
time in the baggage compartment.
Loading your bike inside the baggage compartment:
- Look for the bike icon
decal on the side of the bus.
- Locate the handle and carefully pull up to open the baggage compartment door.
- Lay your bike inside the baggage compartment and close the door.
Unloading your bike from the baggage compartment:
- Look for the bike icon decal on the side of the bus.
- Locate the handle and carefully pull up to open the baggage compartment door.
- Pull out your bike from the baggage compartment and close the door.
Tips to Remember
