METRO Police Operations

METRO Police Department Operations employs police officers and supervisors licensed by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE). The Department is proud of its tradition of excellence in policing, and maintains some of the most qualified, well-trained police personnel in the region.

METRO officers concentrate their efforts to the safety and security of the Metropolitan Transit Authority patrons, properties, employees and transit operations, but are not limited in scope of duty to that transit system. Consequently, METRO Police Department officers conduct a wide range of operations that enhance mobility and traffic safety throughout the Houston area and surrounding counties. These operations include:
