Service Changes

METRO is implementing a series of route and schedule modifications that will take place on June 5, 2016. These changes will include route and schedule modifications to minimize overcrowding and improve on-time performance. METRO will also add trips to minimize overcrowding.

Service Changes & Enhancements – Coming June 5, 2016


4 Beechnut - Weekdays – Add a 5:37 a.m. eastbound trip and change westbound frequency from 15 to 12 minutes (between 2:18 and 3:15 p.m.), all to reduce overcrowding.

4 Beechnut - 7 days/week - Add running time to peak period bus trips to make the schedule more reliable.

20 Canal / Memorial – 7 days/week – Due to community requests, move layover from S. Rice to Hidalgo and redistribute excess running time west of downtown on Memorial portion to east of downtown on Canal portion to make the schedule more reliable.

27 Shepherd – 7 days/week – Adjust running times between timepoints to reflect changes in street construction impacts to bus operations to make the schedule more reliable.

28 OST - Wayside – 7 days/week – To increase reliability and remove the route from a railroad crossing, shift route from Lyons to the East Freeway Service Road between Lockwood and Lathrop.

30 Clinton / Ella – 7 days/week – Adjust running times by redistributing excess running time on the Clinton portion from 11th and Shepherd to the Ella portion to make the schedule more reliable.

32 Renwick / San Felipe – 7 days/week - Adjust running times by redistributing running time on the Renwick portion to the San Felipe portion and removing running time on the= Renwick portion to make the schedule more
reliable.

41 Kirby / Polk – 7 days/week – The eastbound and westbound routes will be changed to serve the Lighthouse of Houston. The route will operate via West Dallas – Shepherd – Kirby.

44 Acres Homes – Weekdays – Adjust running times by removing excess running time on first three morning northbound trips to make the schedule more reliable.

46 Gessner – 7 days/week – Adjust running times by redistributing excess running time on southern portion to northern portion on northbound trips; and by redistributing excess running time on northern portion to southern
portion on southbound trips to make the schedule more reliable.

47 Hillcroft – Weekdays – Shift the start time of the 6:40 a.m. northbound trip to 6:45 a.m.

49 Chimney Rock / S. Post Oak – Weekdays – To relieve overcrowding, add a 6:00 a.m. northbound trip; extend the 6:20 a.m. southbound trip from West Loop Park & Ride to Court and Post Oak.

54 Scott – Weekdays – Add a 2:55 p.m. southbound trip between Downtown Transit Center and South Acres and adjust trip times, all to relieve overcrowding.

56 Airline / Montrose – 7 days/week – Change northbound route from Airline – Berry – Fulton to Airline – Lyerly – Fulton, making existing detour permanent.

60 Cambridge - Weekdays – Shift the start time of two northbound trips: the 8:08 a.m. trip will start at 8:12 a.m., and the 8:43 a.m. trip will start at 8:47 a.m.

68 Braeswood – Weekdays – Adjust running times by redistributing excess running time from western portion to eastern portion to make the schedule more reliable.

70 Memorial - 7 days/week – Due to bridge reconstruction, implement a long term eastbound and westbound detour via Gessner – Briar Forest - Memorial (effective April 2016).

73 Bellfort – Weekdays – To relieve overcrowding, add a 4:28 p.m. eastbound trip between Fannin South Transit Center and Hobby Airport; add 4:50 and 6:35 a.m. westbound trips between Hobby Airport and Fannin South Transit Center, and adjust trip times.

79 West Little York – 7 days/week – Due to operational issues, change the southbound route from Little York – Bauman to Little York – McGallion – Benbrook - Bauman, making existing detour permanent.

82 Westheimer – Weekdays – Add a 6:32 a.m. eastbound trip, and a 3:22 p.m. westbound trip, and adjust trip times, all to relieve overcrowding.

84 Buffalo Speedway – 7 days/week – Adjust running times by redistributing excess running time from southern portion to northern portion of the route on northbound trips and redistributing excess running time from northern portion to southern portion on southbound trips to make the schedule more reliable.

99 Ella - F.M. 1960 – Weekdays – Change southbound frequency from 60 to 30 minutes (between 1:30 and 4:30 p.m.), and change start time of the 6:00 a.m. northbound trip to 6:05 a.m.

151 Westpark Express – Weekdays – Add a 5:00 a.m. eastbound trip between Mission Bend Transit Center and Downtown; add running time inbound in the morning peak period and outbound in the afternoon peak period to make the schedule more reliable.

217 Cypress Park & Ride - Weekdays – Change inbound frequency from 6 to 5 minutes (between 6:40 and 7:05 a.m.); add a 3:46 p.m. outbound trip and adjust trip times, all to relieve overcrowding.

221 Kingsland Park & Ride - Weekdays – Add 5:13, 7:10, and 8:44 a.m. inbound trips and a 2:50 p.m. outbound trip; move the start of the 4:40 p.m. trip from Louisiana/Texas to Louisiana/Jefferson, and adjust trip times, all to relieve overcrowding.

222 Grand Parkway Park & Ride - Weekdays – Add 7:10 and 8:35 a.m. inbound trips; add 3:15 and 4:00 p.m. outbound trips, and adjust trip times between 3:55 and 5:17 p.m., all to relieve overcrowding.

228 Addicks Park & Ride - Weekdays – Add a 4:06 p.m. outbound trip and adjust other trip times, all to relieve overcrowding.

246 Bay Area Park & Ride - Weekdays – Modify the 3:51 p.m. outbound trip to stop at Eastwood Transit Center.

265 West Bellfort Park & Ride - Weekdays – Add 6:21 and 7:43 a.m. inbound trips, add a 3:50 p.m. outbound trip, and adjust trip times, all to relieve overcrowding.

283 Kuykendahl/Greenway – Uptown Park & Ride – Weekdays – Add running time on afternoon peak period trips.

298 Addicks/NWTC/TMC Park & Ride – Weekdays – Extend the 5:34 and 6:09 p.m. outbound trips from Addicks Park & Ride Lot to Kingsland Park & Ride Lot.

311 Bayou City Event Center Shuttle – Effective 2/2/2016, a new route between Fannin South Transit Center and the Bayou City Event Center was implemented (operates on the first Tuesday of every month).
