METRO Posts Compliance Assessment Report On Web Site
August 19, 2010
In April, METRO’s Board of Directors hired the law firm Fulbright & Jaworski to review METRO’s compliance with state laws and regulations applying to the agency.
The Compliance Assessment Report – reviewing meetings and records, financial management, ethical management and business management - was presented to the board today and is now posted on METRO’s Web site.
This review was initiated by the board as a necessary step toward rebuilding public trust – a top priority of the NEW METRO.
“Calling for this review and getting a thorough report on METRO’s compliance with state statutory requirements was a necessary step in building the NEW METRO,” said METRO Board Chairman Gilbert A. Garcia, CFA. “I’m pleased that there were no significant findings and that we have good recommendations for further openness and transparency in conducting our business.”
