METRO has completed repairs to the downed power pole at Fannin and Ewing, and rail is now operating normally.

Just before 3 a.m. a tow truck driver smashed into the pole, knocking out rail service in the Museum District area.

While repairs were being made, METRORail moved patrons between Wheeler and Hermann Park/Rice U stations using one track. The agency also had a bus bridge in place.

The driver of the truck was transported to Ben Taub hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and now faces a DWI charge.
