METRO Discloses Second Attorney Who Was Dismissed
Feb. 26, 2010
At press conferences over the past two days, METRO was asked to identify the second attorney who was dismissed this week and to explain that attorney’s role, if any, in document shredding that occurred Monday.
METRO has been seeking to balance the needs to respect that attorney’s privacy, while also working to maintain public confidence and be as transparent as possible. In consultation with METRO Chairman David S. Wolff and our attorneys, a decision was made late this afternoon to disclose the name of Jakki Hansen as the second attorney who was terminated.
Please note that Ms. Hansen was not terminated for shredding documents. It was during Ms. Hansen’s exit interview on Tuesday, February 23, after the decision was made to dismiss her and during the implementation of that decision, that METRO learned that documents had been shredded.
Another legal department attorney, C Gibson, communicated February 18 that he planned to resign effective February 24 to begin work for another employer. (Please note that “C” is Mr. Gibson’s first name.)
