METRO JOINS U.S. REP SHEILA JACKSON LEE AND TSA TO ANNOUNCE
EXPEDITED SECURITY FUNDING PROGRAM - METRO RECEIVES $1.5 MILLION

WHO: METRO President & CEO Frank J. Wilson; U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee; Transportation Security Administration Assistant Administrator John Sammon.
WHAT: METRO and Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee worked closely with the TSA to shorten the process for U.S. transportation agencies to receive federal funding for security programs.
Thanks to their efforts, METRO will receive $1.5 million this summer to provide its front-line employees with security training. This includes security awareness, behavior recognition, immediate emergency responses and local emergency procedures.
“This is one of many programs METRO is implementing that will make our patrons, and the region as a whole, safer from terrorist threats,” said METRO Chief of Police Tom Lambert.
