Rising Ridership on the Renwick
METRO’s 32 Renwick Crosstown is riding high on ridership as it enters its fourth month in service. On September 2, it registered an all-time high of 888 boardings in a day – that’s 71 percent of its year-end ridership goal of 1,250 daily boardings.
Otherwise, the route is averaging roughly 766 daily boardings for the month, or more than 60 percent of its first year goal.
The 7-mile route operates between Braeswood and Woodway, and is a crucial north-south connector. It links passengers to seven of METRO’s top 20 routes, along with four others. The 32 Renwick serves 111 multi-family residential developments, 69 retail/supermaket locations, 17 religious gathering places, 15 educational institutions, as well as medical and health care locations.
METRO conducted a survey in July, in English and Spanish, to get rider feedback on the new service.

The news was good - 83 percent of the respondents said they were “very satisfied” with the new route.
The majority of the respondents indicated they used the Renwick Crosstown to get to work and back home. Sixty-one of the respondents said they transferred from another bus to the Renwick, while 46 percent stated they transferred from the Renwick to another route.
As far as how to improve the service – most respondents said they’d like the weekday route to also run on the weekends.
The 32 Renwick is part of the METRO Solutions plan to add new bus routes to the system.
